A custom-made POS system within a few days

Het Speelkasteel is the most fun, safest, and cleanest play paradise in the Netherlands. Here, children can climb to their heart’s content, play outside, or take a dive in the ball pit. The play paradise also features a pancake restaurant. To ensure smooth logistics, Het Speelkasteel needed a suitable POS system. At the time, this was very urgent due to a problem with the previous supplier. Curious how they solved this with CashDesk? Read on!

The situation

Het Speelkasteel has existed for more than fifteen years and is a dream for many children. It is a clean and safe play paradise of no less than 7,000 m² for children from zero to twelve years old. It also has an outdoor playground, mega trampolines, and a nice lounge for parents. The play paradise is visited monthly by nearly 5,000 children and their parents.

 

The lounge is located in the restaurant, which opened four years ago so that parents can enjoy a meal in peace. Here they can enjoy pancakes, meal salads, or a good burger while the children are playing. The need for this is evident: visitors keep coming. Currently, they have capacity for 230 covers.

The challenge: the POS system was suddenly offline

Before Het Speelkasteel became a CashDesk customer, they used an alternative online POS system in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the company that supplied this system went bankrupt and was suddenly offline. They were suddenly without a POS system and had to arrange something very quickly. Due to the size of Het Speelkasteel, this could not be a standard POS system but would have to be custom-made. They were concerned that the realization of this would take a very long time.

The solution: a custom-made POS system within a few days

After some searching on the internet, Het Speelkasteel found CashDesk, which coincidentally was also located in Hoofddorp. Naturally, there was a rush because Het Speelkasteel had to keep the play paradise and the restaurant running without a POS system at that time. However, CashDesk provided a custom-made POS system within a few days that perfectly matched the needs of Het Speelkasteel.

 

CashDesk went the extra mile by adding features that the old system did not offer. For example, the entrance fee was integrated into the system, it became possible to use the same system at the bar, the entrance, and in the restaurant, and the Waiter App was added, enabling wireless and direct communication between the kitchen and the restaurant.

The results: more functionality and faster response times

The POS system works properly and is constantly adapted to the needs of Het Speelkasteel. New functions can be added to the system in consultation whenever necessary. As a result, the restaurant runs smoothly even with a large number of covers.

 

The manager also finds it pleasant to work with TeamViewer. This allows CashDesk to view the POS system while on the phone whenever there is a problem. This prevents communication errors and allows them to reach a solution together more quickly.
