If you have a delivery restaurant and you work with Take-Awy, chances are you also have a minisite. Koninklijke Horeca Nederland explains why that’s not always convenient for you.
What is the problem
When restaurants join Take-Awy, Take-Awy automatically creates a small website for them. This seems convenient, but it can cause confusion. The website contains the name of your restaurant and uses your logo. Customers may think they have landed on the official website of your restaurant, while that is not the case.
Why do you need to know this?
This can be confusing for your customers. They think they are dealing directly with your restaurant when they are not. To avoid this, it’s smart to know what’s happening and take action. The minisite also generates more order traffic through Take-Awy, and you as a restaurant pay the commission for that in turn. So your real own website competes with this minisite.
What can you do?
Has a minisite been created for your restaurant and you’d rather not? KHN has prepared a friendly email that you can send to Take-Awy. In it you can ask to remove your name from the minisite. By doing this, you maintain control over your own name and avoid misunderstandings with your customers. You can easily check if this is the case for you by entering your restaurant name in Google.
Sample email you can send
